Hi, I'm Joeri, and this is me.My story began on the Spermalie Hotel and Tourism School, where I studied for seven years: six years of secondary education and then an additional year of specialization. During that training, I was given many special opportunities that I look back on with pride to this day.This includes having had the privilege of serving the king and various ministers, and being allowed to work alongside the team for a week during the World Economic Forum in Davos and I completed internships in three top restaurants, two of which were Michelin-starred restaurants.
During my last internship at Herbert Robbrecht, at that time a one-Michelin-starred restaurant, I was even given the opportunity to work there afterward as a sous-chef. During that internship, an inspector from the Michelin Guide also visited. Normally such a visit is completely anonymous, but as it happened, the chef knew the inspector. He was very impressed with a dish that I had created together with the chef and for which I was given the freedom to develop my own ideas. That is still a moment I look back on with great pride.However, after completing my training as a chef, I noticed that my passion for cooking was gradually fading. It was time for a new direction.
Bodybuilding
I found that one first in bodybuilding, a sport I practiced intensively for about nine years. It taught me a tremendous amount about discipline, perseverance, and goal setting, but I also hit a wall a few times in the process. I participated in about nine competitions and, among other things, became second in the juniors at the Belgian championship.At a certain point, I ended up in a downward spiral where almost nothing else seemed important except bodybuilding. When I finally managed to get out of it, I decided to do something I had wanted to do for a while: get my first tattoo.
First tattoo
I got that tattoo at Inksane Sint-Niklaas.And apparently it didn't stop at just that one tattoo. 
I quickly got the hang of it and ended up spending dozens of hours in the tattoo chair. Through Inksane, I also met my current girlfriend. Jana Jacques Kennen, who has been a resident artist at Inksane Sint-Niklaas since 2019.

About two years later, we got the opportunity to Inksane Sint-Niklaas for sale. An opportunity that I grabbed with both hands. It was also a particularly busy and wonderful period in our lives, because around that same time Jana and I had our daughter Mabel.Since I've been in the shop 2024 took over, a tremendous amount has changed. In 2025 we moved to a wonderful new building. For me that felt like a fresh start and at the same time as the opportunity to shape the studio entirely according to our own vision.I didn't just want to create a place where quality tattoos are done, but above all a studio where people welcome, relaxed and at ease feel. A place where both customers and artists love to walk in.
Dream job
Today I can proudly say that I dream job have found. The studio is running successfully, we are allowed annually more than 1,000 tattoos zetten and I get the opportunity every day to collaborate with fantastic artists and amazing clients.When I look back at everything that led up to it — from the kitchen and bodybuilding to tattoos and running my own business — they might seem like completely different worlds. But in the end, they all taught me the same thing: passion, discipline, creativity, and keeping going until you find something that truly makes you happy.
